Now Available! Complementing Traditional Adddiction Treatment with EMDR
A Self-Paced Distance Education Course for EMDR-Trained Therapists
6 EMDRIA Credits Available!
EMDRIA Credit Provider #10002
Program Approval #10002-DL01
Dr. Marich’s self-paced program on using EMDR to complement traditional approaches to addiction treatment is geared towards trained EMDR therapists. Although some training and experience in the addiction treatment field is helpful, it is not totally necessary to benefit from this program. Dr. Marich’s unique style of conversational lecturing will enhance dialogue about problems that have been traditionally identified in the treatment of addiction, and propose solutions for implementing standard EMDR protocols to address such problems. Dr. Marich will present a literature review on existent knowledge about the use of EMDR in the treatment of addiction, review best practices for implementing EMDR into traditional modalities of addiction treatment (e.g., 12-step facilitation models, cognitive-behavioral models of relapse prevention), present unique applications to using the traditional EMDR protocol with 12-step work, and briefly cover the work that other clinicians are doing with urge/trigger-related protocols. In addition to lecturing, video clips (with practical demonstrations), case discussion, and open question and answer periods will be used to convey the learning objectives.
To register for course, simply email your name, licensure, computer platform (PC or Mac) to jamie@jamiemarich.com.
